Piper Sonoma brand part of 3 million deal
HOPLAND — The locally produced Piper Sonoma sparkling wine brand is part of deal Rémy Cointreau Group announced to sell the Piper-Heidsieck group of Champagne brands to Société Européenne de Participations Industrielles, or EPI, for an enterprise value of €412.2 million, or nearly $ 593 million.

French liqueurs and spirits company Rmy Cointreau Thursday reported a decline in fiscal 2011 profit, hurt by impairment charges related to the Metaxa spirit brand. On an adjusted basis, the company’s profit rose year-over-year, driven by revenue growth due to strength in the Remy Martin brand.
