An ALIE Project fron Hungary in Authentic Learning: MAKING WINE This project has been carried out by students of Sandor Petofi Horticultural Secondary Technical School. The aime was to activate our students to try to accept the new way of learning offered by the Alie project. After they were informed about the new methods and som of the practical part, they were given the task. ASSIGNMENT: The students prepered their own wine in a certain time, and they had to bottle it and design the label as well. It is the real aime of the project, but there was a minor part, which is to try tu ‘advertise’ the Alie programme. To do this, they had to design the film and they also had to do the dubbing in English. PARTICIPANTS: A group of 10 students, at age 16-18, a teacher working as an adviser and expert, some teachers to help to make the designs (it’s not shown in the video). TIME PERIOD: 8 months DESCRIPTION: During the working period, the students worked together and they started in the classroom. They collected information about the outside work, which they continued in the school’s yard. Some month later, they did the vintage and started to work on making the wine. During th period they asked for help from their teachers. The work of the second group was to design the labels for the bottles. For this they needed the help of some art teachers and designers.
